Today we all drove up hwy 74 to Lake Hemet (elev. 4,340 ft.) near Idyllwild. Odie and Ginger loved it and couldn't get enough of all the sights and smells. There were people fishing, other dogs, and ducks swimming around. We walked along a dirt road going by the lake, (which was wide enough for us to spot any snakes that might be around). It was very pleasant near the water, with a cool breeze blowing, and we all got some good exercise. Dogs are allowed but must always be on a leash. Parking is $5 for the day, and there are picnic tables and restrooms nearby. I highly recommend taking your dog out on a hike around some of the beautiful parks we have. Lake Hemet is only about 20 minutes from my house, and this was my first time to go there. To help you find a park or other dog friendly place to go, I've included the link below. Happy Hiking!
