My cousin in Torrance CA is very involved in rescuing dogs and just wrote me the following:
"I'm currently fostering Herbie, a 7 year old, possible poodle terrier mix from Carson Animal Shelter. He was brought to the shelter to be put to sleep. His coat was matted in places and balding in others and he had a terrible flea dermatitis. Any how I got him off death row, made him a little coat to keep him warm, nursed him back to good health, and I have the most lovable dog. He has a few health issues....poor eyesight and chronically itchy skin but we are feeding him lamb and rice and he seems very content here. I would love to move him into the right forever home and he would be a great companion for a senior citizen."
